I have treated an array of culturally and socio-economically diverse clients throughout the lifespan in New York City, Boston and Concepción, Chile. An aspect of the human condition that never ceases to amaze me is how we all have the same basic needs for love, safety and acceptance. In therapy, I work with clients to enrich their coping capacities, in order to promote their feelings of connectedness and agency.
I have extensive experience in working with adults, couples and families, on a range of issues, including:
- Trauma - Loss, grief and bereavement - Anxiety and panic - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder - Depression - Parenting issues - Relationship issues - Breakup, separation and divorce - Family dynamics - Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay, Trans, Queer (LGBTQ)-related issues and transitions - Sexuality - Gender identity - Coping with chronic illness - Life transitions - Self image.
I have worked and trained intensively with interpersonal violence, including:
– Domestic violence
– Sexual abuse or assault
– Kidnapping
– Families who have lost a loved one to homicide, suicide, or sudden death.
I also have specialized training in treating:
-9/11 first responders.
My treatment approach is highly individualized, based on the latest psychological research for therapies shown to be most effective for each condition, along with assessing the fit with each client.
